Light a seasonal candle
November is an in-between month where you can light your favorite fall fragrances and your favorite Christmas scents too! I love to have Pumpkin Pie, Gingerbread, and Cranberry Woods on deck for November, but Pecan Praline or Christmas Cookie are great transitional scents as well. The glow of a candle is the perfect way to spread cheer when it gets darker more quickly these days.
And don't forget that Christmas candles make the perfect hostess gift!
Learn to crochet , make candles, or try a new hobby
The weather finally starts to feel like fall in November (let's be honest, September and October just feel like summer with pumpkins when you live in the south) and now is is the perfect time to learn to crochet or another hobby you've been too busy to try! With the shorter days, give yourself something to look forward to at home.
Southern Charm Candle Co. partnered with Beyond Handcrafted to host candle making workshops in November called POURED WITH CHARM. These are a bonding opportunity for you and the family, a date night activity when you need some connection, or a chance to create a thoughtful handmade gift that supports local organizations. If you're not in the Summerville area, head to Google to find a class!

Volunteer at a food bank
Volunteering at a food bank in your area is a wonderful way to directly help those in need and improve your local community. Search for an organization, find their requirements, and then sign up. Some organizations will require in-person orientations while others will have online shift sign-ups; it just depends!
Create a gratitude jar
The best way to cultivate a heart of thankfulness is to count your blessings and what better way than to write them down and fill a jar? It's a visual representation of the many blessings you have in your life! And you most likely already have all the tools necessary to do this. If you have Southern Charm Candles that are almost finished, you can repurpose and reuse them. If you start it now, on Thanksgiving they can all be read around the table OR even at the end of the month.
Host a Chili Cook Off or Friendsgiving or Bake a New Treat
Sharing food is a wonderful way to create memories and bless others. Think of all the memories you have shared around the table! November is a wonderful month to host a neighborhood or church chili cookoff or a Friendsgiving. It's a chance for people to share their family recipes, hidden talents, and dishes made with love. With kids off from school, it can be a time to come together to bake something new.
Start a New Tradition
You'll notice we kept a few spots blank on our Printable PDF for you to add in your own ideas. My family and I always pick out our Christmas tree with our best friends the day after Thanksgiving. We decorate the tree and watch a Christmas movie (the movie changes year to year). But you can always decide to start a tradition that has a lasting impact on you and your community. Maybe you're the family who wakes up early to do a Turkey Trot or maybe you're the family who wears Christmas jammies and decorates the tree. There are so many wonderful ways to be intentional in November to slow down and appreciate the people in your life.
As you move through your November bucket list, remember that gratitude grows when we pause to appreciate what’s right in front of us. Whether it’s a warm drink, a heartfelt conversation, or the glow of your favorite candle, let this month be a celebration of all that’s good — and all that’s still to come.
